Budweiser “Home of Goals” Campaign

By on May 5, 2015 in Company News, Set Life

Anomaly, the agency of record for Budweiser Canada,  engaged Black Box Productions to line produce the grand finale of their Home of Goals campaign in St-Jerome. The campaign launched with a super-bowl commercial featuring former NHL hockey player Mike Bossy and employees of Soucy Baron, the company responsible for molding the rubber used to make NHL pucks. After the launch, blank pucks were sent across the country for famous Canadians and hockey fans to sign and send their thanks to Soucy Baron and the town of St-Jerome. The pucks were collected and fabricated into a 9 foot high sign announcing St-Jerome as the “Ville Des Buts”. The Mayor of St-Jerome liked the slogan so much, he changed it to the town slogan. The Black Box team was on-site to capture the event with multiple HD cameras, including jib and slider shots, sound crew, and art department. Now that playoffs have started, we’re hoping some of those pucks from St-Jerome make it into Tampa Bay’s net and advance the Habs towards the Stanley Cup.

Neptune hires BBP to produce smart watch launch video

By on February 17, 2015 in In Production

To launch their latest smart watch, Montreal start-up Neptune turned to Black Box Productions to create a video that would showcase the features of their game-changing technology. While most smart watches are dumb screens used to connect to a smart phone, the Neptune Duo reverses this paradigm, bringing computing power to your wrist. The challenge we faced making this video is that an operational device does not exist yet. Working with a non-functional prototype, we filmed the product on a green-screen background and then used compositing and motion graphics to make the device come to life in post-production.

The launch video has served Neptune well. Their crowdfunding campaign using our video raised over one million dollars and their device has garnered attention from both tech magazines and mainstream media. To learn more, check out these articles which feature our video in Wired, The Globe and Mail, and CBC. Or to pre-order your device go to
